Strange phenomena occur to a person when sleeping

Sleep is a good time to enjoy some calm and rest, and give your body and mind time to recover again after a hard day's work. But during sleep, we encounter some strange phenomena, some of which may seem horrific, such as suddenly waking up paralyzed, or if you fell from a high altitude, and other strange things that you must have experienced one day!

Although some of these phenomena appear confusing and frightening but rest assured, each of them has a logical explanation and no need to panic. In this article, we review some of the strangest phenomena that people experience when sleeping and their interpretation.

The strangest phenomena that people experience when sleeping!
The phenomenon of falling during sleep

A strange phenomenon that we feel when entering a deep sleep phase after a hard day's work. This phenomenon begins with an overwhelming feeling of happiness while you are asleep, then your body falls as if it fell from a high rise to the ground. This phenomenon occurs with the resting of the bodily organs, as the heart rate slows gradually as the mind loses control of the body. This phenomenon helps save you from death by alerting your devices that are about to stop working due to physical exhaustion.

Deep bedtime hallucinations

Another strange phenomenon is that you hear strange sounds when your body parts prepare to engage in sleep, meaning that you are still in the early stages of your sleep, which is the stage of sleepiness.

This phenomenon occurs due to cognitive disturbances of the senses before you sleep or before you wake up, and it appears to the sleeper during them as if they see visual imaginations or hear the voices and whispers around it that may be annoying or terrifying!

Soon the body returns to a state of consciousness and calm. These sounds can be whispering to a group of people or a specific person, and the sleeper maybe sometimes called loud cries.

Muscle spasms of the body

Some of us suffer from sleep disturbing and painful muscle spasms when they feel that all their muscles have been affected by involuntary and sudden systolic movement. Some interpreters have said that the reason for this phenomenon is a sleep disorder and heavy physical exertion during the day.

Twitching of the eyes

This phenomenon occurs in the sleeper during the dream stage when the eye moves strangely and rotationally from side to side quickly and regularly.

Lose weight

Another phenomenon that some find good, is that some people can lose weight during their sleep due to intense sweating and breathing during the night, with the lack of calories being not compensated by eating as is the case during the day.

Increased body length

Have you ever thought about why some people seem taller when lying down? This is completely normal and is a general phenomenon for everyone, as everyone looks taller when they sleep and their bodies lie down.

The reason for this is that the spinal vertebrae that act as cushions between the bones are stretched, and thus the spine becomes taller.

Talk during sleep

Another common occurrence of sleep is repeated in two out of three adults, which is either talking with random words or having a full normal conversation during sleep, which is completely normal. Research indicates that the sleeper’s speech does not reflect his true memories or emotions, so do not panic!

Eating asleep

Some people when they sleep they move to the fridge and eat the food while they are completely asleep! The reason for this disorder is because the brain is stuck in two different stages, namely deep sleep waking at the same time. In this case, people can do all kinds of unusual things without realizing that they did it!

The ability to control dreams

Some people can distinguish that they dream and can actually control parts of their dream. These dreams are known as "Lucid Dreaming," and they are a natural event that you should not worry about.
